I mentioned last week some time about my mom’s retirement.
What I didn’t mention (for obvious reasons) was that we three kids planned a surprise visit to see her this past weekend.
She knew that Julie was coming, so the plan was for Kham and I to meet up with Julie in the terminal and all come [...]

As if life weren’t busy enough… I’m going to be starting a new job a week from Monday. Its a computer job, supporting Linux. Its also in Grass Valley, which is a huge blessing.
What of the engineering, you ask?
Still going to be doing that too. Mornings and evenings, I suppose. [...]
Wow. This is pretty weird. Maybe my brother can explain this news story.
Kham, is there something you haven’t been telling me?
We leave tomorrow for a week in Modesto. Looks like the van will be a bit less crowded. Zeus (our dog) is going to go stay with our friends the O’Sullivans, and their dog Tenna. He’ll have a much better time there than down in Modesto.

Whoo hoo!

Around here, Summer means (among other things) peaches.
Sarah’s mom has a small fruit tree orchard outside her house where she grows apples, pomegranates, and lots and lots of peaches. I came home from Modesto this week with 4 plastic grocery bags full of them.
Sarah already made a really good batch of peach vanilla jam. [...]
IT Geek moment coming.
If you don’t use Firefox for your web browsing, you should. Not only is it way better than Internet Explorer, but it is much better at protecting you from bad things on the web.
In a couple of weeks, the new version of Firefox is coming out. It looks like its [...]
I finished reading the new Leif Enger book when we were at the cabin. Very, very good. Different from “Peace Like a River”, but quite good, I thought. I remember complaining to Mrs. Berg that there were so few writers like Harper Lee who knew how to tell a really good [...]
